I am currently in my third year studying economics at the University of Warwick. Economics always appealed to me because of how its models and assumptions which may seem too simplified at first can be used in real life to make decisions that affect entire countries and economic systems. The core ideas of resource allocation and scarcity explain a lot about how our world works whether it's in micro or macro scale. Furthermore, economics is always evolving due to the constant debates between old and new economic schools of thought. When you explore these in essays, it teaches you critical and analytical thinking, whereas some specific topics like game theory can make you a better decision-maker in everyday life. Plus, economics is very interdisciplinary and it links other subjects I enjoy teaching like psychology, maths, and business studies which diversifies your perspective and skillset. Outside of academics, I like hiking, dancing salsa, and recently started weightlifting.
