Hi! I am Amy and I'm studing marine biology at the University of Portsmouth 🐟🌊. I am in my third year so I joined in September 2022. Marine biology combines all of my A-levels into one subject (maths, biology and geography) as each one are very important to the different parts of the course. I have a love for turtles which fits this course well as I can learn lots about them and the other animals living in the ocean, and how they evolved! 🐢 I recently submitted an essay about the evolutionary path of turtles and it was the most fascinating subject to read and write about. Outside of classes I have many interests. I am very creative so do a lot of scrapbooking and journalling. I also love being active so I participate in rock climbing while at university which is very physically demanding. When at home I revisit the karate club I have attended since I was 11, as I love meeting my old friends and practicing together. I have a second degree black belt in Goju Ryu karate, so I am a large advocate for participating in clubs alongside studying as it helps your mental health drastically! 🥋
