I am currently studying Military History at the University of Kent with a place as an army officer secured upon graduation. I thoroughly love history because I place great importance on increasing my knowledge of the circumstances by which our current global position has come about, whether it be conflict-related, political or societal. I believe that by critically analysing past events, whether triumphs or blunders, we can obtain a stronger understanding of issues impacting on the contemporary world. It is my desire that more people should take a step back every so often from their hectic lives in the modern world in order to realise that a lot the guidance or lessons they may need in the future; not just in national policy but also in personal lives, have already been learned: we just need to study history in order to find them. In my spare time I am an avid runner, specialising in middle distance competitions. I love many sports, and have competed in quite a few: the wackiest must have to be Unicycle Hockey! I also sing and play the violin, piano, and flute.
