My name is Shafaque Rahman and I teach a wide range of subjects, with my speciality being a rather unique combination of History and Computer Science. I teach both the subjects along with English up to A-level.

I have been in the teaching field for a long time now. I began tutoring Computer Science, Sociology, English and Political Science during my undergraduate years and later worked as a high-school teacher of History and Computer Science during my postgraduate years in India. I have a natural passion to “lecture” people, and I find myself drawn to the teaching field. After my second post-graduate degree in History in London, I began working as a SEN Teaching Assistant at a secondary school in London.   There I provided tuition in Maths and English, and also started a coding club to teach programming languages to GCSE students.

Over the last 6 years of tutoring, I have taught a lot of students but there is one student whose journey has felt the most rewarding to me. My first student was due to appear for her Indian equivalent of A levels at the end of the year. She was not doing well academically and had a high chance of failing her Political Science and Sociology exams.  Over the course of the year, I taught her Political Science and Sociology and aimed to boost her interest in academia. She not only improved her grades drastically, but also changed her mindset and decided to study Sociology for her Bachelor’s degree.  I helped her in the process of admission and she managed to secure a position at the University  of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.
