Beth Landi
Hi, my name’s Beth 🙂 I graduated with a first class honours in Psychology BSc from the University of Kent, and have recently finished my Master’s degree in Social Psychology. I studied both Psychology and Sociology at A-Level, and feel confident helping students with either of these subjects. Social sciences have huge real world implication, there is psychological and social theory popping up everywhere in our day to day lives, and the more we study it the more we see it. I believe that social sciences have the perfect balance of logic and creativity. It is a science that encourages for interpretation and deep thinking, meaning it can always be super engaging and exciting – we will find a way to unlock this side of learning for you! Social sciences can be tough to wrap your head around sometimes, but I am super passionate about unlocking young people’s potential and believe that a huge part of learning and success is down to building confidence in your ability, and a love for your subjects. Therefore, I will always strive to make learning fun, and take a student-centred approach to tutoring.

I am currently studying psychology at Goldsmiths University (second year). Psychology ensures that the same problem is looked at in multiple ways. For example, aggression in be viewed through a cognitive, biological, social, developmental and personality lens. Furthermore, psychology often, if not always, pertains to topics concerning everyone and anyone. For example, I am learning about typical and pathological ageing in my Biological Substrates of Behaviour module. This particular topic can be applied to everyone and thus, makes psychology very interesting. My interests include; reading, playing chess and practising the piano.
Masnuna Chowdhury
Hi there! I’m an aspiring actuary and a first-year maths and actuarial science student (BSc Hons) at the University of Manchester. My love for maths existed since the beginning of time and managed to stick with me all the way through GCSEs and A-Levels, so I decided, why not study it at uni? I’ve been privately tutoring for a couple of years now and have previously tutored secondary school maths students with the charity, The Tutor Trust, for almost a year. I am experienced in both online and in-person teaching. However, now I will only be tutoring online as it has become my optimal way of teaching since the beginning of the pandemic. Teaching is a career I’d like to take up in the distant future, after becoming rich from being an actuary off-course. Outside of teaching and learning, I am a volunteer peer buddy for students at my uni, an avid fictional book reader and always on an adventure somewhere in the cities of England. I look forward to work with new faces and hopefully I can inspire other students to pursue a career in maths too!

I am a 3nd Year Medicine student at Imperial College London. More than happy to give any advice to students I am tutoring about the university application process for medicine. I love biology and psychology and studying them in GCSE along with other factors made me keen to pursue a career as a doctor. I am interested in tutoring students in science subjects as I want to, not only help students work hard and get grades they are proud of but also show them the relevence of what they learn to their real lives. Hopefully, I can help and guide them to follow whatever they choose to do in their futures.
