Hi, my name is David Manship and I just graduated from the University of Leicester, getting my Bachelor's in English. The reason I chose English is because the core of the subject is sitting down and appreciating a good story. But more than that, you get to take it apart and figure out what's good about something, what works and what doesn't. In terms of writing and speaking about texts, I love how the process is almost like solving a puzzle, only with no wrong answers. You're given a lot of pieces to play with, and its up to you to present them however you want (as long as you make a coherent argument, of course). English has a level of freedom few other courses have. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading (unsurprisingly), playing video games and spending time with friends
